civil atrophy\\ band.

civil atrophy's history dates back to the summer of 2002. bassist andrew hoefel and guitarist tony stanziano just got instruments and were looking to start a band together. the band was originally called Imbruement. Imbruement had several lineup changes. the first lineup included vocalist tony stanziano, bassist drew hoefel, drummer matt baron, and guitarist michael maher. guitarist michael kadian also joined at one point. due to conflict of interest [among other conflicts], both maher and kadian departed, leaving tony stanziano to move up to lead guitar duties. after recruiting vocalist ryan cherchio, and after a few practices, everyone agreed that a name change was necessary. civil atrophy was born, and allowed the band to start fresh while retaining the ideas that never got fully utilized in Imbruement. matt baron left the band, and frank mayhack was recruited as the second guitarist. dave tadros joined up as the drummer for two practices. a proper replacement was found in alex santiago, however, which allowed dave to move to bass and andrew to move to keyboards. the current lineup is above.
